Toyota Leads the Pack at 2016 Vincentric Best Value In CanadaTM Awards

Toyota Canada Inc. showed up the competition at the 2016 Vincentric Best Value In CanadaTM Awards and won the most awards out of all auto manufacturers, proving the value of Toyota's vehicle line-up.

Larry Hutchinson, President, and CEO of Toyota Canada Inc. explained how these awards demonstrate how Toyota is committed to bringing incomparable and reliable quality to its customers.

"These awards speak to the value our customers find in our lineup across segments and powertrains such as hybrid vehicle technology," said Hutchinson.

Toyota Canada Inc. won the overall Brand Award for SUVs, Crossovers, and Vans, which was an amazing acknowledgement of Toyota's strong lineup in the growing market for both trucks and SUVs.

Toyota Canada Inc. also won the following eight individual model awards:

Note that Toyota took away four awards for hybrid models alone. This is a testament to the quality and practicality of Toyota's variety of models that boast its signature advanced hybrid technology.

For example, the brand new, 2016 Toyota Rav4 hybrid is the full package - a vehicle that brings the fuel economy benefits of a hybrid, while also providing its drivers with versatility and performance. The Toyota Rav4 hybrid has proven it's a force to reckon with as almost 3,000 have been sold in Canada in just the first half of 2016.

Vincentric awards are determined by analyzing over 1,800 vehicle configurations for the 2016 model year. Total cost-of-ownership was measured using eight cost considerations including depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity costs, and repairs. Using a statistical model addressing 18 different scenarios, Vincentric chose the winners by measuring which vehicles had lower than expected costs given their market segment and price.
